Meet Stevie Louis and his band!

Stevie Louis Edwards was born in Hollywood California, one of nine children. His family later moved to New Rochelle, New York and then on to Fairfield County, Connecticut. After four years in the Air Force, returning from Germany he moved back to his home state of California. There, he attended and graduated college while pursuing his music career. During the time he lived in Los Angeles, he was hired by Barbra Streisand, his vocal track being used in the movie A Star Is Born as the vocalist that replaced Kris Kristofersen in the Speedway Band in that movie. Stevie Louis' vocal talent was also used in a Toyota Corol-la-la commercial which aired nationally coast to coast on both television and radio. He further expanded his musical experience by working as a recording engineer, honing his engineering chops at such legendary recording studios as Gold Star Recorders and A&M Recording Studios both located in Hollywood California. He has been associated with legendary producers, such as Quincy Jones who Stevie Louis refers fondly to as "Q", Lou Adler, and Henry Louie. He also worked with such notable recording artists such as Cat Stevens, Carole King, Joannie Mitchell, Henry Mancini, The Carpenters, The Funky Kings and many others. Al Jarraue and Stevie Louis Edwards, use to take turns opening for each other at performances at the Bla Bla Cafe in Studio City and also at the Bitter End West in West Hollywood, California. Stevie Louis once had the pleasure as a recording engineer, of helping mix the hit single "On And On" with Stephen Bishop. Doug Fieger, lead singer and guitarist for the legendary rock group The Knack, has credited Stevie Louis Edwards, "Step", as Doug knows him, for inspiring the music for The Knack's hit song "My Sharona". Doug was so excited after seeing a Stevie Louis' show featuring the Fo-Funk Band at the world famous Troubadour in West Hollywood California, that he went right home and penned the start of what was to become his historic mega hit. The beat for this song was loosely based on a Stevie Louis Edwards' song entitled "Hey Now". When asked how he felt about it, Stevie Louis replied, "I am thrilled and flattered to be even the smallest part of anything that inspired such a masterpiece of a song. I have been inspired by many artists myself and I'm just happy that Doug mentioned it to me at all. Doug Fieger is someone I greatly respect. He is always original in approaching the creative process. He is a wonderful singer and songwriter and 'My Sharona' is one of my favorite songs of all time." The lyrics to "My Sharona" were inspired by Doug's girlfriend at the time, whose name, of course, was Sharona. The band that played just before Stevie Louis Edwards that night at Doug Weston's Troubadour was a group called the Eagles. Yes the Eagles, that just prior to their colossal rise to becoming a mega force in the music industry. Among Stevie's past jam buddies can be listed such legendary performers as Sammy Hagar, Johnny Rivers and of course Stevie's own personal favorite Roger Miller. Stevie Louis' is currently happy and content living in Marion County, West Virginia while continuing to work on creating, recording and performing his music. Stevie Louis hopes to see you out and about at one of his gigs. He loves his fans and greatly appreciates their support.
